Dear all,

I thank you for your interest in the iBurst wireless broadband solution. It is my pleasure to accompany you in this orientation journey.

iBurst Association (iBA) is a non-profit worldwide consortium established with its objective to promote and develop iBurst as the preferred solution for mobile broadband wireless access (MBWA).

The iBA was established in April 2007 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia but it had been functional since early 2006. iBA consists of global Burst operators, vendors, manufacturers, service provider, research organizations and entrepreneurs representing 19 countries, namely USA, Japan, Canada, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Nigeria, Lebanon, Republic of Azerbaijan, Denmark, Mauritius, Finland, France, India, Indonesia, Slovenia, Malaysia and Taiwan.  iBA plays a critical role to excel amongst the technologies frontiers and continue to advocate iBurst as the preferred and ubiquitous hi-speed wireless solution with unique commercial capacity.

As at August 2008, iBurst technology has commercialized in 14 countries, amongst others are USA, Canada, Lebanon, Norway, South Africa, Australia, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Ghana and Tanzania. In other word, iBurst had been offered as an alternative wireless broadband solution to more than 1.8 billion populations.

The countries in pipeline for iBurst roll out within next few quarters are Slovenia, Rwanda, Uganda, Mozambique, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Thailand and D.R. Congo.

iBurst is a reliable and stable wireless broadband technology jointly-developed by USA Arraycomm, LLC and Japan’s Kyocera Corporation. iBurst had been proven commercially since it commercialized in Australia in 2004. iBurst has unique technical features and is all IP based network, coupled with Adaptive Array Antenna technology to achieve high spectral efficiency, high capacity and fully mobile solution.

iBurst is currently provides 32 Mbps maximum total throughput per Base Station at 5 MHz frequency bandwidth only.  It enables end users to be connected in always IP centric on condition, with speed of 2 Mbps (downlink) packet data services based on Non-Line-of-Site (NLOS).  On 12 June 2008, iBurst based technology was stipulated in the ITU document : “MBTDD 625K MC-Mode” and hence iBurst was recognized as the standard iEEE.802.20.

iBA is actively participated in international arena to promote the iBurst wireless broadband solution since its inception. For instance, iBA was represented in various working groups of IEEE and ITU, as well as participated in the World Radiocommunication Conference. iBA’s engagement in the above organizations is in synergize with its vision to bridge the digital divide and promote universal broadband access for underserved communities via HC-SDMA platform and base on IEEE 802.20 standard.

IBurst Association (iBA) organized iBurst Forum annually to bring all iBurst stakeholders together to promote good practices of wireless broadband deployment, strengthen cooperation and partnership among the stakeholders, enhance understanding of wireless eco-system, inclusive of  spectrum management, pilot scheme, procurement, security, subscribers satisfaction, regional marketing, operational and even operators CAPEX and OPEX  planning.

As at August 2009, iBA had organized 7 iBurst forums attended by all iBurst service providers, telecommunication regulators, vendors, equipment suppliers and entrepreneurs. The latest 7th iBurst International Forum was successfully held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 17 to 18 June 2009.

The iBurst Forum was previously held in Tokyo, Sydney, Singapore, South Africa, Kuala Lumpur and Amsterdam.

iBurst Association (iBA) welcomes all possible collaboration with ICT organization and private sectors to support the iBA programs and ICT development initiatives. We sincerely invite you to join iBurst Association (iBA) as a member, either Registered Member or Associate Member.
